The Mission

I have already talked about the trip to Romania on Life Update #2 (we used miles to book the trip and will be staying with friends part of the time).

The next life update I have is about a mission trip I’ll be going on in the fall. My church, Hosanna Fellowship, has a relationship with a church in Greece, and my pastor has taken a group from our church to Greece in the past. The year they went, I really wanted to go, but I helped a youth do some fundraising instead. Well, this year I set my heart to go, and the Lord delivered! Here’s what happened.

I custom-designed and sold some t-shirts that I really believed were Holy Spirit inspired. The shirts have Isaiah 40:31 printed on them, and they came in red, white, or blue.

I sold several of these shirts and then closed out that fundraiser so that I could move on to the next…except that I didn’t need a “next”! Some donors, who would likely prefer to remain anonymous, sent me a check for nearly everything else I needed for the mission trip. And the sister of one of the donors wanted to chip in, too, and her check put me at EXACTLY what I needed for the entire mission trip. Can you believe it?! God is so good!

Not only that, but I did not mention anything to these donors about Chris wanting to go. But he’s been praying (and praying and praying) and asking the Lord to speak to him about whether or not he should go. Not knowing this, these donors mentioned that if Chris wanted to go, just to let them know and they would give to him, as well. If that’s not an answer from the Lord, I don’t know what is!

So Chris and I will both be going to Greece to serve at a refugee camp, to do some ministry in Athens, and to walk the footsteps of the apostle Paul in a biblical studies tour. WE ARE SO EXCITED!

Lots happening in this season. Stay tuned for more updates and pics from Romania!

While Paul was waiting for them in Athens, he was greatly distressed to see that the city was full of idols. So he reasoned in the synagogue with both Jews and God-fearing Greeks, as well as in the agora day by day with those who happened to be there. – Acts 17:16-17
