A Dark and Lonely Place

There’s a dark and lonely place where souls fear to tread. A place where hearts break, tears shed, and people cry out for the pain to stop.

I’ve walked those fields. I’ve treaded through the thickest of shadows, the heaviest of darkness that comes from a blacked-out sun.

I’ve been there. I’ve survived it. I’m stronger because of it…

But what if I hadn’t made it? What if the trial had broken me — like a fragile bow upon a thirsty tree, bent by the wind until it snapped?

What if?
